Allens has a market-leading practice in Disputes and Investigations and we are now seeking a talented Senior Associate to join our busy Melbourne team.
Many of our disputes Partners are recognised as world leaders in their field and our Disputes and Investigations Practice Group, consisting of more than 220 lawyers, consistently ranks very highly, in Band 1, both in Chambers Asia Pacific and The Legal 500.
By joining our successful team, you will act in some of Australia's most significant disputes, including class actions, public and private investigations (including inquiries by the Australian Securities & Investments Commission, the Australian Securities Exchange, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, Royal Commissions and Senate inquiries), and competition cases. You will also assist with the Australian component of major international disputes. Working in a collaborative team environment you will conduct matters in jurisdictions throughout Australia and Asia.
What you'll bring
To succeed in this role you will need:
• Demonstrated experience from a leading commercial disputes practice, ideally from a top tier, national or international law firm.
• A strong academic background.
• A desire and ability to grow, both as a lawyer and as a leader.
• An ability to effectively manage smaller matters and discrete elements of larger matters.
• A willingness to build an understanding of clients and develop effective working relationships.
• An ability to establish a professional profile and internal networks.
• A willingness to develop others through mentoring and sharing experiences and networks.
