Allens is looking for a Senior Desktop Engineer to join our Information Technology Department on an initial 6 month fixed term contract. Based in either our Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane Office, you will be responsible for the design, delivery and support of the firm's desktop environment.
As the Senior Desktop Engineer, you'll join our Desktop & Mobility Team. Allens uses technology to support all aspects of its business, in order to build our communication and collaboration capability. Our IT Team is made up of technical and project-focused experts who work together to resolve challenges, by creating robust and sustainable solutions for the business. You will work in a collaborative environment advising and supporting the Firm with their IT issues and delivering outstanding service.
As the Senior Desktop Engineer – SCCM/SOE, you will be responsible for the design, delivery and support of the firm's desktop environment.
Whilst this is mainly an operational role supporting and maintaining the desktop environment, it also involves a large component of project work. Your role would also involve collaboration with internal clients to analyse requirements and propose solutions, as well providing technical mentoring to other team members both inside and outside Desktop & Mobility.
The Desktop & Mobility Team advise and provide support to all practice groups, offices and departments at Allens in relation to the design, delivery and support of the Firm's business systems. What you'll bring
To succeed in this role you will need:
- Demonstrated experience (4+ years) managing desktop environments for 1000+ staff across multiple sites;
- Demonstrated experience with SCCM, InTune EndPoint Manager, Windows 10 OSD, Office 365 client CTR, Drivers, patching, scripting, reporting, software packaging and deployment;
- Demonstrated ability to review and apply security best practice to desktop environment;
- Experience with VPN, Citrix XenApp, MDM\MAM (MobileIron, InTune) will be highly regarded;
- Ability to provide 3rd level support and manage problem tickets associated with desktop environment;
- Understanding of ITIL incorporating incident, problem and change management;
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to a changing environment, team player, detail oriented, logical thinker with a 'can-do' attitude;
- Ability to identify critical issues and deal with them proactively and independently, or escalate them when required;
- Ability to concentrate on several areas of work at one time, and prioritise workloads;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to write good documentation and share your knowledge;
- Understanding of project management methodologies (e.g. Agile, Prince2).
This is a full-time, 6 month fixed term contract position, although candidates looking for flexible work arrangements will be considered for this opportunity.
A small amount of out-of-hours maintenance and critical support will be required.
We also support a hybrid working model, where working from home is part of the norm.
