We are hiring a Senior Practice Assistant to join our Mergers & Acquisitions team on a 12 month fixed-term contract in our Sydney office. You'll work alongside top calibre legal operatives, from Graduates to Partners.
The Allens Practice Support team consists of Practice Assistants, Word Processing and Registration Clerks and proactively delivers high quality administrative and practice management support to legal teams, and the Firm's clients. We work collaboratively to create efficiencies and implement the Firm's policies and procedures.
Our team of Practice Assistants are aligned to various Legal Practice Groups and Corporate Services Departments throughout the Firm basis.

The range of services provided by the Practice Assistants at Allens is varied. Your role within the team could typically include:
- Provision of practice management services to a portfolio of internal clients, including Partners and a team of Lawyers.
- Preparing and amending court documents, contracts and correspondence.
- Data entry.
- E-Billing and client reporting.
- Diary, travel and expense management.
- Management of meetings and telephone conference calls in an effective and professional manner.
- Performing other administrative tasks as required.
Your role as a Senior Practice Assistant will require you to build close relationships with your internal clients, including Partners and a team of Lawyers. You will also deliver high quality administrative and practice management support to the Firm’s clients.
As a member of our Team, you will also partner with many parts of the Firm across various practice groups and departments. This is to ensure that you’re equipping the Partners and Lawyers that you're supporting in your role as a Practice Assistant with the information and knowledge resources they need, so that they can work more efficiently and effectively to provide the right, and timely, advice to their clients.

What you'll bring
- Demonstrated experience in a Legal Secretarial or Practice Assistant role.
- Excellent computer literacy in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook email.
- A commitment to excellence in client service, along with strong interpersonal skills, confidence, and the ability to build rapport with busy clients, partners and lawyers.
- A very high level of accuracy and attention to detail, with the flexibility to organise and prioritise work independently and deliver to tight deadlines.
- The ability to work well within a team environment.
- A high degree of diplomacy and discretion and an ability to maintain confidentiality.
- The ability to generate ideas and demonstrate initiative.
This is a 12 month fixed-term contract opportunity for a Senior Practice Assistant.
We support a hybrid working model where working from home part of the week is the norm.
