Your role
Allens Adapt is our contract lawyer platform. We place exceptional lawyers with the firm’s clients and practice groups to meet short and fixed-term resourcing needs.

As a result of our continuing growth, we are expanding and looking for a Resourcing Consultant to join the Allens Adapt team. This is an opportunity to join a small, friendly and highly collaborative team and to have an impact from day one on our clients, practice groups and the Adapt lawyer community.

The Resourcing Consultant takes day to day ownership for sourcing and attracting candidates to Allens Adapt and matching them with suitable client placements. In this role, you will engage regularly with external legal talent, Allens partners and clients.

We are seeking someone who enjoys building relationships with internal and external clients and is driven by the challenge of finding contract talent in a competitive market. You will work in a high performing, collaborative and supportive team environment, and will benefit from variety and autonomy of work. This is a fantastic role for somebody looking for a highly professional, fast-paced environment and who is committed to providing high-quality service to candidates, clients and team.

Our team

The Allens Adapt team is part of the Client Secondments function which sits within our broader Resourcing and Workforce Planning Team, which is also home to the Experienced Hire and Graduate Resourcing Teams.

Our Resourcing and Workforce Planning Team is an integral part of Allens People & Development (HR) Department. By joining us, you will be challenged, supported and guided as you continue to learn and develop. Our team is committed to high performance and delivering exceptional client care – if we spot an issue we raise it; if we spot an opportunity we let our clients know.

Your day

You will be responsible for:

  • Sourcing and attraction: finding hard-to-find legal contractors through a variety of methods including writing and placing ads, undertaking search, headhunting, engaging with referral leads and Allens alumni.
  • Assessment and selection: selecting the best candidates for contract roles. Understanding the candidates' legal skills, experience and motivation in order to select the best match for client assignments.
  • Candidate management: Direct engagement and relationship building with the Adapt contractor pool on a regular basis. Briefing contractor on suitable opportunities, negotiating remuneration and contract terms. Interview preparation, feedback and coaching.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Engaging and communicating with clients (internal and external) to take role briefs, submitting candidates, obtaining client feedback and negotiating fees and terms, together with the National Secondments Manager.
  • Placement management: Regular check-ins with Adapt contractors. Remediation of any issues, with support from the National Secondments Manager and the P&D team. Contract off-boarding & feedback
  • Market intelligence and commercial awareness: staying abreast of developments in the legal contract market in Australia and overseas. Actively monitoring supply and demand trends and taking steps to address shortages.
  • Brand ambassador: Acting as a champion and brand ambassador for Allens Adapt both internally, and externally with candidates and clients. Collaborate with the National Secondments Manager to continually improve the Adapt offering and the experience for clients and candidates.

As a member of our P&D team, you will partner with many parts of the firm, across various practice groups and departments. Your key stakeholder relationships will include Partners, Legal and Corporate Services Departments. Externally, you'll build relationships with clients, candidates, and Allens alumni.
