Our Brisbane office has an opportunity for experienced Associates, or Senior Associates, to join our Corporate team. The successful candidates will be key members of the team, getting the opportunity to work with a broad range of clients and advising on the most complex and largest deals in the market.
You'll have broad exposure to a range work across the Corporate team, and work closely with a number of Partners on different matters, with the opportunity to begin to specialise as you gain experience.

Our growing Brisbane Corporate practice is now looking for experienced Associates or Senior Associates to join our collaborative team. Working closely with the Partners and other legal experts in the Group, you'll get the opportunity to be involved in a range of work including:
- Public M&A (takeovers and schemes)
- Private M&A (business and share sales and acquisitions)
- Equity Capital Markets (IPOs and secondary capital raisings)
- Head Office & Governance (ASX Listing Rules, Corporations Act and directors' duties advice for our key clients)
As an Associate or Senior Associate in our Corporate team you will be a key member of the team focusing on the transactions described above. Most transaction teams include a Partner, Senior Associate or Associate and one or more junior lawyers.
You will often be the key contact for the client on these transactions. Your role will also involve the mentoring and developing the junior lawyers who will work with you on these transactions.
The Brisbane Corporate team advises well known listed, and large unlisted, clients across a range of sectors including energy & resources, agribusiness, childcare, travel and infrastructure.
Our Brisbane Corporate team is a core part of Allens' national Corporate team, offering members the ability to work for Allens' national client base and to regularly work with lawyers from our offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. We view this as a unique opportunity for you to gain exposure to a deeper variety of Corporate M&A and Capital Markets transactions to accelerate and further develop your technical skills and experience.

What you'll bring
- Demonstrated experience from a leading Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions / M&A and Capital Markets practice, ideally from a leading top tier, national or international firm, or;
- An ability to effectively manage smaller matters and elements of larger matters.
- A willingness to participate in business development activities, such as pitch documents, firm-wide pursuits, article writing, attending industry events and hosting seminars.
- A desire and ability to grow, both as a Corporate lawyer and as a leader.
- A willingness to build an understanding of clients and develop effective working relationships.
- An ability to establish a professional profile and internal networks.
- A willingness to develop others through mentoring and sharing experiences and networks.
