Your Role

Our Competition, Consumer & Regulatory practice is recruiting a high-calibre Senior Associate to join our Melbourne office.

This is a fantastic role for somebody looking to work in a collaborative and high performing team, solving challenging problems for a range of Australia's top companies, multinationals and high growth enterprises.

Our experienced team offers our clients experience, expertise and advice in dealing with the full spectrum of competition and consumer law matters, including:

  • Mergers and acquisitions
  • Joint ventures
  • Anti-competitive conduct allegations
  • ACCC investigations and immunity applications
  • Access undertakings and arrangements
  • ACCC enforcement action and third party litigation
  • Marketing and advertising reviews
  • Review of contractual terms
  • Compliance programs

Our Team

The Competition, Consumer & Regulatory Practice offers a truly unrivalled experience in working with clients to navigate competition and consumer law issues.

We are involved in many significant transactions across a wide spectrum of industries. This role will provide you with the opportunity to be actively involved in the full range of competition and consumer law services as well as receive on-going training and development.

Your clients

We have acted in many of the major mergers, competition and consumer investigations, prosecutions, access disputes and proceedings in Australia. The group conducts litigation and represents clients before the ACCC, the Australian Competition Tribunal, the National Competition Council, the Federal Court and the High Court.

Our deep knowledge of how our clients operate are the product of years of dealings and interactions. We have a reputation for resolving novel and complex regulatory issues and work with clients to manage the impact of deregulation and legislative changes.

What you'll bring

  • Demonstrated experience in competition and consumer law, ideally from a leading top tier or global or national firm or a competition agency.
  • An ability to effectively manage larger matters and lead teams.
  • A desire and ability to grow, both as a lawyer and leader.
  • A willingness to build an understanding of clients and develop effective working relationships.
  • An ability to establish a professional profile and internal networks.
  • A willingness to develop others through mentoring and sharing experiences and networks.

Work pattern

This is a permanent opportunity for a Competition, Consumer & Regulatory lawyer.
