Your role

You'll be a part of our Patent & Trade Marks Attorney (PTA) Support team providing business critical administrative support to our trade marks team. In this role, you will demonstrate a high level of skill across a variety of administrative tasks and demonstrate advanced capability within the Trade Marks Practice Specialisation in either our Melbourne or Sydney office.

As a Trade Marks Practice Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Management and input of data into our case management  database (Inprotech)
  • Supporting the trade mark attorneys with communications to clients and IP Offices
  • Filing new trade mark applications and assisting with prosecution tasks
  • Providing general administrative support to the team

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity however we support flexibility, and would be happy to discuss what arrangements would work best for you. We also support a hybrid working model, where working from home, and the office, is part of our norm.

About you

You will have:

  • Ideally at least three years' experience in a similar role within a law firm or trade marks attorney practice.
  • Specialised knowledge of Australian, New Zealand and global trade marks and design practice.
  • A high level of skill and accuracy for all relevant document production software including Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel), DocsCorp and any other document management software utilised by the firm.
  • Strong written communication skills and keen attention to detail, with the ability to draft correspondence, presentations, pitch documents and slide packs quickly and accurately.
  • Strong organisation skills and the ability to thrive in an environment of continuous change working with challenging clients or stakeholders.
  • A high degree of initiative, proactivity and problem solving skills, with a willingness to take ownership for the completion of tasks/projects and deliver innovative solutions to improve systems and work practices.
  • Strong influencing skills, with the ability to respectfully manage upwards with stakeholders.
  • A desire to learn, grow, network and mentor others
  • The ability to work well within a team environment.
